The Food Bandit strikes again!

We seem to have a problem with keeping Ruby out of the pantry.  The girl loves to snack.  This is what I found tonight when I was helping Marien with some school work...
and she had the nerve to smile all cute like!
She was picking the marshmallows out and leaving the rest of the cereal on the floor.

uh oh, caught again!

Going for the wide-eye innocent look!

This is why I need to keep the pantry locked... to keep the food bandit from striking again!

The Haircut!

It was time...Ruby was in desperate need of a haircut.  I have been putting it off for quite some time but I finally sucked it up and did it.  I figured it couldn't look any worse than it already did.  So I will let you decide.

Before

and after!
And here are a couple more...not horrible but it will do.  I cut a good inch or so off.  I can't believe how long her hair was.  The other two definitely did not have this much hair.

You can't help but love that face!

Guess who found the chocolate blueberries?

Let me preface this little story with the the fact that this all happened in a matter of minutes.  I was in the family room and Ruby was in there babbling away.  Then she toddled off, like she always does (she is VERY busy).  I heard from the other room the rustling of plastic and things hitting the floor and rolling.  At first I didn't give it much thought until I realized it was in the kitchen and it was Ruby.  So I went strolling in there and this is what I found....

uh oh, busted!
And of course, like any good mother I ran and grabbed my camera first.  But trust me, it gets worse.

Maybe if I look sad I won't get in trouble.

I'm gonna make a run for it!
At this point I had to put the camera down and grab her, she was on the move. I could hear this slurping sound and discovered she was sucking the chocolate off of the gummy centers and letting them fall out of her mouth.  There was chocolate and sticky gummy things everywhere.  Chocolate was smeared all over the floor, the bottom of her feet were covered in chocolate.  This picture she at least looks somewhat clean, right after chocolate was pouring down her front, then she starting spitting out huge chunks of chocolate gummies.  I have no idea how many she had stuffed in her mouth.  Of course this all happened right after I had given her a bath and it was only 8:30 in the morning.

I knew there was a reason we had put a lock on the pantry door, now I just need to use it!  Hope you are having a chocolate filled morning as well.

Ruby is 1!!!!

Where did the time go?  I feel like it was just yesterday that I was looking at her sweet face for the first time...

and now she looks like this...all 21lb, 12oz of her. ( I added that part for me, so I can remember when she is older).

She is so sweet and not afraid to let you know if she doesn't like something you are doing.
I guess that comes with being the third.  I miss the little baby days but we have entered one of my favorite stages, 12-18 mos.  I don't know why but I love this stage.  They are still babyish but trying to be more independent.
Ruby is close to walking, says a few words, mama, dad and yells Isaac.  And this girl loves to eat.  She takes after her mom:)
I was really hoping that she would smash her cake all over her face but she wanted nothing to do with it.  I think it had something to do with her having an ear infection. (We are marching towards a visit to the ENT specialist.)  This is as much as she wanted to do with her cake.

You want me to do what?
It is her birthday, so she can cry if she wants too!

Happy Birthday Rubyroo!  We love you!
